Island
FreeYour notch, finally useful
What’s playing slides out of the notch with album art, controls and progress. No notch? Aura floats a pill at the top of any screen.
For macOS 15 Sequoia and later
Your Mac in one vibe.
Hit play. The island slides out of the notch, and your wallpaper takes on the colors of the album. Aura makes the notch, the wallpaper and keep-awake work as one.

Questions
Will Aura drain my battery?
No. At rest Aura uses close to 0% CPU. The live wallpaper is the only part that does real work, and it pauses on battery (optional), in Low Power Mode, behind full-screen apps and whenever it isn’t visible.
Which Macs does it run on?
Any Mac with macOS 15 Sequoia or later, Apple silicon or Intel. On MacBooks with a notch the island wraps the notch; everywhere else it floats as a pill at the top of the screen.
Which music apps work?
Apple Music, Spotify and most players that report to macOS Now Playing — including YouTube in Safari and Chrome.
What do I get for free, and what is Pro?
Awake, the Island and Now Playing are free forever. Pro adds the wallpaper that follows your music and every vibe. All of it is unlocked for 7 days when you first install — no account, no card.
Is it a subscription?
No. Pro is a one-time purchase of 9 € for one Mac. Moving to a new Mac? Deactivate the old one in the app or the customer portal and activate the new one.
Is it safe to keep my Mac awake with the lid closed?
Aura only does it while Keep Awake is on, pauses below your battery threshold or when the Mac gets too hot, and always restores normal sleep when you turn it off, quit, or restart. Don’t put an awake Mac in a bag.
What does Aura know about me?
Nothing it sends anywhere. Album art and colors are processed on your Mac. Aura talks to the network only to check your license and look for updates.
Why isn’t it on the Mac App Store?
The island and the lid-closed mode need system access the App Store doesn’t allow. Aura is signed and notarized by Apple, so it opens like any other app.
